“I’ve tried two different versions of Lyle’s edge guards on two different paddles, and I’ve been really impressed with their durability. The quality is far above anything I’ve used before. Other products I’ve tried in the past felt like little more than electrical tape — they scuffed, chipped, or dented within just a couple weeks of play.
With Lyle’s edge guards, it’s been a completely different experience. I’ve played with them for a few weeks now, and I haven’t gone easy on them. Not only is my paddle well protected, but the edgeguards themselves still look great. They don’t look beat up, even with plenty of wear and tear.
I can’t recommend them highly enough. One thing to note: they do add some weight to the paddle. For some players, that’s actually a bonus — especially if you’re wrapping the entire paddle, since it can mimic the effect of lead tape and give you a little more stability. Just something to keep in mind.
